HISTORY

     The fig tree is a biblical tree which proceeds from Asia Minor and is grown throughout the Mediterranean bowl. Its fruit, the fig, has been highly appreciated in all Mediterranean cultures throughout history, not merely for its taste, but also due to its extraordinary wholesome value. For mythology, it represented the symbol of abundance and wisdom.

     The warm climate of Almoharín Municipality, in the region of Extremadura, favours the growth of a variety which is unique, due to the fact that it ripens early, its mellow taste and sweetness.
